Illinois – The Prairie State

Illinois Postcard

Greetings from Illinois Postcard. Available at Legends’ General Store.

From the major metropolitan city of Chicago, where you can find all manner of museums, nightlife, arts, entertainment, and sophistication, to the small farming communities along old Route 66, you will enjoy your visit through Illinois!

Visit its many state parks along the way, where the trees are lush, and streams flow freely. See the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield and visit Abraham Lincoln’s home and tomb. And, if you are hankering to see the many vintage icons along Old Route 66, where the “Road to the West” began, you will find them abundantly.

Enjoy your travels in Illinois, and welcome to The Land of Lincoln

Illinois FlagThe Illinois flag is a simple representation of the Great Seal of Illinois against a white background. In 1969, the General Assembly voted to add the word “ILLINOIS” under the Great Seal of the flag. The State’s name was added to the flag to ensure that people unfamiliar with the Great Seal of Illinois would still recognize the banner.
