In Central City, Colorado, this face draws back its long-dead artist time and time again.
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park was home to Stephen King for five months while he wrote “The Shining.” Completed in 1909 by F.O. Stanley, the hotel is said to be haunted by both Stanley and his wife, as well as the property’s prior owner, Lord Dunraven, who was driven out of the area after swindling several people out of their land and money. Mysteriously, several children are also said to haunt the old hotel.
