Supporting our love of history since 2003:

I like that you are always adding material to your sight.  It’s a very good website and it’s been fun to navigate and learn about the history of all the places I have visited.  And thank you for the professional packaging of photos. I will continue to enjoy the artistic and historic nature of your site.  Happy Trails! – Susan

Pic Fave of the Moment

In Without Knocking by Charles Marion Russell

Did You Know?

After serving more than twenty years in prison, Cole Younger got a job selling tombstones, worked for a while in a Wild West show with Frank James, and died quietly in 1916 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where he was known as an elderly churchgoer.

It was during the same year that Route 66 began to be built that the Whiting Brothers discovered that with just a little lumber from their father’s mill, they could easily construct a profitable gas station. Originally founded in Saint John, Arizona in 1926, Whiting Brothers Station soon became a familiar sight all along Route 66, as well as other areas in the Southwest.

  1. I would like some information on a man who use to live in Fremont,MO.
To the best of my memory his name was Bob. However he was known as Ozark Bob.
He was paralysed from the waist down. He moved around by two goats pulling a wagon.
I remember riding in the wagon in the early 60’s.
    Thanks
