Advertising goes back thousands of years to a time when
Egyptians used papyrus to make sales messages
and wall posters.
Commercial messages and political displays
have been found in the ruins of Pompeii and ancient Arabia, as well as
papyrus advertising in Ancient Greece and Rome. The earliest form of
advertising can be found in rock and wall paintings that date back as far
as 4000 B.C.
