cowboys
that "broke" the
Old

blazed the frontier by driving thousands of heads of cattle up the
trails, delivering the mail on the
Pony Express,
exploring the canyons for the railroads, and leaving in their paths,
fascinating tales to be explored by historians, become the fodder for
"dime novels," and the basis for numerous books and novels.
