First Coal House, White Sulphur Springs
- Text on back: First house built with 50 tons cannel coal in West
Virginia. Built in 1961. Located one mile east of White Sulphur
Springs, West Virginia on Rt. 60. Vintage postcard is unused and in
good condition, slight crease in lower left corner.
National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Green Bank
- Text on back: 300-Foot Transit Radio Telescope. The National
Radio Astronomy Observatory, Green Bank, West Virginia. View of
the 300-foot transit radio telescope. The inside surface area of
the dish is 1.8 acres and its movement has been restricted to
elevations along a north-south line. Astronomical programs include
measurements of hydrogen gas in our galaxy, in nearby galaxies,
and for studies of distant and faint radio sources. Vintage
postcard is unused and in good condition.
Skyline Drive, West Virginia - Text on back:
Skyline Drive Swift Run Gap. This view shows the Jct. of Hwy. No.
33 and the Skyline Drive. Hwy. No. 33 extends from Lake Michigan,
through Fort Wayne, Ind. Across Ohio and West Virginia to
Virginia. It crosses the old Dominion State, going through
Harrisburg, Richmond and on to the Chesapeake Bay. The skyline
Drive runs the length of Shenandoah National park from Royal to
Waynesboro where it meets the Blue Ridge Parkway. Vintage postcard
is unused and in good condition with very little edge wear.
