Chickamauga Battlefield, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia - Text on back: Wilder Tower -- Chicamauga Battlefield, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. This 85 ft tower was dedicated in 1899 to Colonel John T. wilder's mounted infantry at the Battle of Chickamauga. The confederate victory on this battleground, September 19-20, 1863, brought hope to the South after the July defeats at Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition.

Fort Sam Houston GreetingsGreetings From Fort Sam Houston - Text on back: Tame deer in famous Quadrangle area Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Postcard has writing on back, postmarked 1962, and intact 4 cent stamp.

Fort Union Santa Fe Trail Ruts - Text on back: Fort Union National Monument, New Mexico. New Mexico's Fort Union Monument was established to preserve this historic military depot on the Santa Fe Trail. Used continually from 1821 until 1880, the 900-mile trail was a major trade route that brought an estimated 2,000 wagons west each year. Shown here is one of the many eroded remains of the Mountain Branch near Fort Union. Though longer and more rugged than the Cimarron Branch, many chose this route because of readily available water and fewer problems with the Native Americans along the way. Postcard is new, unused and in mint condition.

Groton Monument, Groten, Connecticut - Text on back: Groton Monument 1826-1830. 135 foot high, has spiral staircase, 166 steps. Built to honor the brave men who fell under the command of Col. Ledyard in the Battle of Fort Griswold, Sept. 6, 1781 when the traitor Benedict Arnold led the British attack. Built by the State of Connecticut. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition.

U.S.S. Lexington at night, Corpus Christi - Text on back: U.S.S. Lexington CV 16 - The U.S.S. Lexington Museum - one of Corpus Christi's premiere attractions. Photographed in evening twilight, this WWII vintage aircraft carrier proudly depicts its nickname, "The Blue Ghost" so named because Japan's Navy made numerous claims to have sunk her. The Lady Lex is a floating Museum berthed just offshore from the Texas State Aquarium and Corpus Christi Beach. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.

Fort Union Walkway - Text on back: Fort Union National Monument. Flagstone walkway -- almost 1 1/2 miles of Flagstone connected the various sections of Fort Union. The stone was mined by soldiers from a quarry near the fort. Postcard is new, unused and in mint condition.

Veterans Administration Center, Biloxi - Text on back: Veterans Administraion Center, Biloxi, Mississippi.. The Hospital-opened August 10, 1933, has a capacity of 209 beds. Serving veterans of South Mississippi, southeast Alabama and northwest Florida. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition.
