Chesapeake Bay
- Text on back: Chesapeake
Bay. With more than 4,000 miles of shoreline, the Chesapeake is America's
largest inland esuary. A century ago, this was by far the nation's
best-lit waterway. The earlier lighthouses were conical stone structures,
but the vicious shoals of the bay required screw-pile construction which
engineers developed by the 1850s. Postcard is new and in mint condition.

State College, Princess Anne, Maryland. Vintage postcard is in good

Loy's Station Covered Bridge, Maryland - Text on back: Loy's Station
Covered Bridge, Frederick County, Maryland. Located off Maryland Route 77
a few miles east of Thurmont, this covered bridge was built in the 1850's
with a span of 90 feet. Reconstructed in 1994, some of the original beams
and supports remain in place. Postcard is new and in excellent condition.

modern office buildings, hotels, shops, and tourist attractions. Postcard
is new and in mint condition.
Hampton National Historic Site, Towson, Maryland - Text on
back: Hampton National Historic Site Near Towson, Maryland. Built between
1783-1790. Home of the Ridgely family for 6 generations. Vintage postcard
is unused and in good condition with very little edge wear.
St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg - Text on back: St.
Joseph College Emmitsburg, Maryland. “Virgo Potens” - Guardian of The
Valley. Vintage postcard has writing on the back, is postmarked 1959,
intact 3 cent stamp. Card and in good condition with little edge/corner
wear.
Alexander Hotel, Hagerstown - No text on back.
Vintage linen postcard has writing on the back, is postmarked 1940, intact
1 cent stamp, good condition with some edge/corner wear and scalloped
edges.
Greetings
from Annapolis, Maryland - Text on back: Annapolis, Maryland.
The capital of Maryland and the home of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis
was also the seat of the Continental Congress, which met in the State
House in 1783-4. Upper View: St. Johns College, State House dome and State
Office Bldgs. As seen from College Creek. Lower View: Brigade of
Midshipmen in review on Worden Field, U.S. Navel Academy. Postcard is
unused and in good condition.
Chesapeake Bay - Text on back: Chesapeake Bay,
Maryland, America's great inland sea, tall-masted yachts running before
the wind, sail driven skip jackets dredging up oysters, and foreign ships
plowing towards Baltimore. The magnificent twin spans of the Bay Bridge,
picturesque lighthouses, and seafood. In the words of Captain John Smith
(1608), this is truly a "delightsome land". Postcard is new, unused and in
excellent condition.
