New Orleans -
Text on back: New Orleans, Louisiana. Because it was founded on the bend
of the Mississippi river, New Orleans is often called the "Crescent City."
due to its shape, there is no traditional "north, south, east, or west."
Some streets in the city begin at one end running parallel, but end up
perpendicular causing visitors and even locals to become lost. Mostly
located in the French Quarter, New Orleans has around 40,000 buildings
listed on the National Register of Historic Places more than most other
U.S. cities including Washington D.C.
Mardi Gras, Louisiana - Text on back: new orleans, Louisiana. Mardi Gras,

use today). He placed Mardi Gras on the day before Ash Wednesday, the
first day of Lent. That way, all the debauchery would be finished when it
came time to fast and pray. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.
