Bluegrass was brought to the area that is now Kentucky by English settlers
around 1625. Each spring, new growth produces tiny bluish purple flowers
that give the fields a soft blue-green cast. Continues with state facts.

1669, Kentucky was opened up for settlement in 1769 by Daniel Boone, the
famous pioneer. Kentucky is one of the most scenic and historic states in
the Union. Postcard is new and in mint condition.
State Capitol, Frankfort - Text on back: The Capitol
Bldg. At Frankfort, Ky is among the finest in the country, the dome being
a reproduction of Napoleon's Tomb. Stairways are fashioned after the Paris
Opera. Vintage linen postcard has writing on back; postmarked in 1950's;
one cent stamp is intact; good condition.
Fort Knox, Kentucky - Text on back: Fort Knox, kentucky. United States
Bullion Depository. A large portion of the United States' gold reserve is
stored in the vault of the Fort Knox Bullion Depository. The vault is made
of steel and concrete, and the vault door alone weighs more than twenty
tons. Completed in 1936, the Depository is constructed of granite lined
with concrete.
