Nicodemus - 1885 - Text on back - Nicodemus National Historic Site, Kansas. View of Washington Street, Nicodemus in 1885. Founded in September, 1877, Nicodemus already consisted of about 300 Black settlers. By the mid-1880's, Nicodemus had been transformed into a prosperous town. They boasted of two newspapers, three general stores, at least three churches, a number of small hotels, one school, literary society, ice cream parlor, a bank, a livery, numerous homes and more. Postcard is new, unused and in excellent condition.

Whistlin' Through Kansas - Many Kansas towns were established along railroad lines in the late 1800's. While many of the trains are gone, an occasional whistle still can be heard. Postcard is new, unused and in excellent condition.

Nicodemus - Text on back - Nicodemus National Historic Site, Kansas. This area preserves, protects and interprets the only remaining western town established by African Americans during the Reconstruction Period following the Civil War. The town of Nicodemus is symbolic of the pioneer spirit of African-Americans who dared to leave the only region they had been familiar with to seek personal freedom and the opportunity to develop their talents and capabilities. Postcard is new, unused and in excellent condition.

Though most perceive Kansas as being "flat as a pancake," it actually rises in elevation some 3,300 feet from the Missouri border to the Colorado border, and off the beaten path, can be seen hills and valleys, unique rock formations, and six scenic byways.

Yates Center - Text on back: The Yates Center Courthouse Square was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May of 1986. It has 41 buildings. Two structures and one site built between 1883 and 1928. The people of Yates Center welcome you. Postcard is new, unused and in very good condition.

Dodge City, Kansas Boot Hill - Text on back: Boot Hill, Dodge City, Kansas. Established in 1872, became known as "Queen of the cow towns". Was famous as wail and wooly outpost. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition.

Buckhorn Saloon, Wichita - Text on back: The Buckhorn Bar was the name of the first tavern in Wichita. History relates that drunken cowboy silenced a music box with his six-gun because it got on his nerves. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition.
