Savannah, Georgia. The Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge dedicated as a
memorial to the late former Governor of Georgia, was built at a cost of
$14,600,000. The structure is 6,034 feet long with a vertical clearance of
135 feet over the Savannah River. Vintage postcard is unused and in good

sky is illuminated by the famous modern structures of downtown Atlanta.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield, Marietta, Georgia
- Text on back: Visitor Center. Kennesaw Mountain national Battlefield Park.
Marietta, Georgia. The Battle of kennesaw Mountain was fought June 27,
1864. The smaller Confederate force (60,000) under Johnston defeated the
larger Union army (95,000) under Sherman. The Confederate victory slowed
Sherman's March to the sea. Vintage postcard is unused and in good
condition.
Chickamauga Battlefield, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia
- Text on
back: Wilder Tower -- Chicamauga Battlefield, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
This 85 ft tower was dedicated in 1899 to Colonel John T. wilder's mounted
infantry at the Battle of Chickamauga. The Confederate victory on this
battleground, September 19-20, 1863, brought hope to the South after the
July defeats at Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Vintage postcard is unused and
in good condition.
St. Simons Island - Text on back: St. Simons Island. Timber on St.
simons was used in the first ships of the U.S. Navy, including the USS
Constitution. The 200-year-old working lighthouse is located on the
southern tip of the island. St. Simons provides activities such as golf,
tennis, fishing, and boating. Bicycle trails parallel many of the roads on
the island. Postcard is new and in mint condition.
Augusta-Richmond
Civic Center, Augusta, Georgia - Text on back: Augusta-Richmond
County Civic Center, Augusta, Georgia. 18 million multi-purpose complex
designed for every special event. Contains convention facilities with
exhibit and banquet halls; numerous meeting rooms and a grand arena that
seats 8,754. Vintage scalloped edge postcard is unused and in good
condition.
Memorial
Hall, Stone Mountain, Georgia - Text on back: Stone Mountain
Memorial Hall. Located 16 miles from Atlanta. This beautiful building
houses an information Center in the middle with a Restaurant and Gift Shop
on each wing. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition with
scalloped edging.
Indian
Relic Display, Cartersville, Georgia - Text on back: Museum
display of ritual objects at Etowah Mounds Archaeological Area near U.S.
41, Cartersville, Georgia. This important Indian site was a village and
ceremonial center from about 800 A.D. to 1550 A.D. The mound area, with
museum displaying artifacts, is open to visitors. The site is operated by
the Georgia Historical Commission. Vintage postcard is unused and in good
condition with some corner wear.
The Wrens Nest, Atlanta - Text on back: The Wren’s Nest (Home of Joel Chandler Harris) Atlanta,
Georgia. The preserved home of the author of the well-loved stories about
Uncle Remus, and his famous “critters” such as Brer Rabbit. Postcard is

Savannah, Georgia – The Birthplace and Childhood Home of Juliette Gordon
Low, Founder of Girl Scouting in the United States of America. This house,
known in Savannah as the Gordon Home, was built in 1819 and is a fine
example of Regency Architecture. Now owned by the National Girl Scout
Organization, it is a living memorial to Juliette Low and a Center for
Girl Scouts in this country. Vintage postcard is unused and in good
