North Dakota - The Roughrider State
- Custom original
only available at the
Rocky Mountain General Store. Greetings From
North Dakota - The first Europeans reached
North Dakota in 1738 and Lewis & Clark traveled through the area in
1804. What would become a state in 1889 was sparsely populated
until the late 1800s. Though today, it is the 19th largest state,
it is the 48th most populous, with lots of room to roam. Visit the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Fort Union Trading Post and
Knife River Indian National Historic Sites, 15 state parks, and
dozens of wildlife refuges.
North Dakota is also known as the
"Peace Garden State," the "Flickertail State," and the "Rough
Rider State."
Route 66 Sign - Custom original only available at the
Rocky
Mountain General Store. Text on back:
Route 66 was thought of as the
“super-highway” when it was commissioned in 1926, representing
unprecedented freedom to travel across the American West. In 1985, the
historic road was officially decommissioned as the pavement was bypassed
by interstates. However, a new generation of travelers enjoy the historic
highway today.

The Round Up - Custom original only available at the
Rocky Mountain General Store. Text on Front: There is noise on the mountains and dust on
the plain. And the cattle string out of the dry, sandy
drains, While the far-scattered punchers are urgin' them in,
With words that smell strong of original sin, With a racin'
and chasin' and often bout-facin'. And that is the edge of
the roundup. Text on back: The Round-Up was an integral
part of the
cowboy's life during the days of the
Old West as
it is today on modern ranches. Verse on front from a song by
the same name, Badger Clark, 1906. Postcard is brand
new and in mint condition.
