‘round, are located less than 20 miles south of Mobile, Ala., on U.S. 90.
During the fall and winter months, thousands of Camellias, embracing
hundreds of varieties, are blooming. Beginning in February and lasting
into April, hundreds of thousands of Azaleas burst into passionate flower,
completely hiding their foliage in solid masses of white, pink, salmon,
red, orange and cerise. During the spring and summer, all seasonal flowers
and many exotics abound. Vintage postcard has writing on the back, is
postmarked 1956 from Mobile, Ala., intact two cent stamp. Shows wear on
corners.

The Narrows
- The Narrows on U.S. Highway 280
between Birmingham and Sylacauga, Alabama. The Narrows is one of the many
beautiful scenes that fascinate traverlers along this scenic "Florida
Short Route" Highway. The Highway passes over both Red and Shades
Mountain. Postcard is unused and in very good condition.

view is typical of Alabama's Gulf Coast. Postcard is used, postmarked from
Alabama, 1960, intact 3 cent stamp, good condition.
Red Barn Gifts, Oxford
- Oxford, Alabama. The
Red Barn is a picturesque sight on the Atlanta-Birminham Highway (U.S.
778) just west of Oxford on Coldwater Creek. This is a popular wading and
picnicking spot and the creek also furnishes the water supply for the
anniston-fort McClellan area. Postcard is unused and in good condition.
The Narrows,
Birmingham - Text on back: This beautiful scenic view is just a few
miles south if the city, on the "Florida Short Cut” Highway. This highway,
a marvelous achievement of engineering by the State Highway Department,
passes over and under both Red and Shades Mountains and leads to
Jacksonville, Florida. Vintage linen postcard is unused and in good
condition with some edge/corner wear.
Duck Springs Covered Bridge, Keener

This bridge is located near Attalla, Ala. And can be seen from Interstate
59, north. This Etowah County C.B. is given no. 28-01 in "World Guide to
Covered Bridges" and is 119 ft. long. This postcard is unused and in good
condition.
Vestavia Temple and Gardens, Birmingham -
Text on back: Vestavia Temple and Gardents, atop Shades
Mountain, 6 miles South of Birmingham, Alabama, replica of Ancient Temple
of Vesta of Rome, built about the 5th Century B.C., 4 stories high, 182
feet in circumference, 20 columns, each 9 feet circumference. In Art
Gallery are many roman statues and Mural of Vestal Virgins, largest mural
in the world painted by a woman. Extensive gardens and tea room open year
round. Postcard is unused and in very good condition.

action -- smoke, fire, dying settlers and Creek victory cries, the largest
Indian massacre in the history of the entire North American continent. 537
men, women, and children were put to the Creek hatchet here in August
1813. Authentic replicas, the scene is reconstructed exactly as it was
when it was destroyed by the Red Sticks of William Weatherford. Postcard

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park

back: The Battle of Horseshoe Bend was fought on March 27, 1814. Gen.
Andrew Jackson, with the help of friendly Creeks and Cherokees, defeated Menawa and his Red-Stick Creek warriors. This victory opened more than 23
million acres of land to white settlement and led Jackson eventually to
