1880 Town Church Postcard1880 Town St. Stephens Church - Text on back: South Dakota's original 1880 Town, 22 miles west of Murdo, South Dakota. The town consists of more than 20 buildings relocated to this site from throughout the state and furnished with thousands of unique relics of the old west. Mount Moriah, Deadwood PostcardMount Moriah Cemetery - Text on back: Wild Bill Hickok (1837-1876) American frontier scout and famed lawman of the West. Hickok liked to gamble at cards and while playing in a poker game, he was shot in the back by Jack McCall, on August 2, 1876. Wild Bill was holding Ace's and Eight's when he was shot, forever after called the "Dead Man's Hand." Calamity Jane (1852-1903) was the nickname of Martha Jane Canary, a famous American frontierswoman. She was an expert with horse and rifle and served as a scout for General George Custer. She was in Deadwood during the time Wild Bill Hickok was shot and killed. Today they lie next to one another in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Deadwood, South Dakota. Postcard is new, unused and in mint condition.

Deadwood PostcardDeadman's Hand - Deadwood, South Dakota - It was over 120 years ago when prospectors struck gold in Deadwood Gulch, Dakota Territory and that is how the town of Deadwood was born. All of downtown is a National Historic Landmark. When you walk down Main Street, you can feel the presence of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane walking along beside you.
