Here, oxidation has produced a rainbow of colors in the eroded clay deposits of ancient lake bed sediments. Iron oxides produce violet, yellow, red, brown, and black. Green is usually caused by copper or the breakdown of mica. Postcard is new, unused and in mint condition.
