South Dakota State Bird - Text on back: South Dakota State Bird - Chinese Ringneck Pheasant. (Phasianus Colchicus Torquatus) The South Dakota state bird first introduced to the state in 1898, found its new home to its liking and thrived prodigiously. In 1943, the legislature named it the state bird. This scene is from the original canvas painted especially to give true rendition to South Dakota's Official State Bird. Vintage postcard is unused and in good condition. Has scalloped edge.
