Greetings From Kansas - Custom original only available at the Rocky Mountain General Store. Text on back: Kansas has many claims to fame, including a long history of pre-Civil War battles when it was first labeled the "Free State," as well as unparalleled Old West legacies in its many cowtowns, Native American history, and along the historic westward trails. Though most perceive Kansas as being "flat as a pancake," it actually rises in elevation some 3,300 feet from the Missouri  border to the Colorado border, and off the beaten path, can be seen hills and valleys, unique rock formations, and six scenic byways.

Route 66 Open - Custom original only available at the Rocky Mountain General Store. Spanning almost 2,500 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles, Route 66 was officially decommissioned in 1984. though many may believe that the historic "Mother Road" is little more than a memory; 85% of the vintage pavement is still drivable today. Postcard is brand new and in mint condition.

Russell Soulsby, Route 66 Hall of Fame of Illinois - Text on back: Russell Soulsby. Opened in July of 1926 (4 months before Route 66), Russell & his Father, harry, began as "Soulsby Service" &, for more than 64 years, was a fixture o the Road. At one time, the station sold milk, ice cream, & other items (as well as gas, & repairs). Finally closed down in Nov. of '91-because it did not meet E.P.A. standards, Russell & his sister Ola remain there greeting travelers & fixing T.V.S! Located on old Route 66 in Mount Olive. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.

Will Rogers Manorial, Claremore - Text on back: Will Rogers Memorial - Claremore, Oklahoma World famous memorial to the beloved Oklahoman, Will Rogers, known as the "World's Ambassador of Good Will", attracts thousands of visitors. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition with scalloped edging.

Route 66 Sign postcardRoute 66 Sign - Custom original only available at the Rocky Mountain General Store. Text on back: Route 66 was thought of as the “super-highway” when it was commissioned in 1926, representing unprecedented freedom to travel across the American West. In 1985, the historic road was officially decommissioned as the pavement was bypassed by interstates. However, a new generation of travelers enjoy the historic highway today. Postcard is brand new and in mint condition.

M.F. "Cotton" McNabney, Route 66 Hall of Fame of Illinois - Text on back: Cotton McNabney. Cotton worked & owned various cafes on Route 66. One was Circle Brothers in Chenoa. (which is now Steve's Café). From 1949 to 1972 he operated Cotton's Village Inn at 401 N. Main St. in Bloomington. Cotton passed away on April 11, 1992. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.

Needles, California PostcardNeedles California Route 66 - Custom original only available at the Rocky Mountain General Store. Text on back: Located on the scenic Colorado River, Needles is the gateway to California from Arizona. Filled with history, the area provides peeks at ancient petroglyphs, dozens of vintage Route 66 buildings, one of the few remaining historic Harvey House Hotels, and numerous recreational opportunities. Postcard is brand new and in mint condition.

Captain Francis Mowery, Route 66 Hall of Fame of Illinois - Text on back: Captain Francis Mowery. Francis worked for the Illinois State Police from 1941-1974. Member of first graduating class in '41 of the State Police Training Academy. After his return from W.W. II, he began his beat on Route 66 near Pontiac. promoted to Sergeant in '52, Lieutenant in '47, and in '62 became 1st Captain and first Commander of the new District 6, which runs from Dwight to McLean to his retirement in '74. He currently lives in Fairbury, IL. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.

Ernie Edwards, Route 66 Hall of Fame of Illinois - Text on back: Ernie Edwards, Pig Hip Restaurant. On 6/16/37, a legend was born in Broadwell & before it ended in Sept. '91 the Pig Hip Restaurant, Sandwich, & its colorful owner would be known worldwide. Ernie, known for his gift of gab, greeted travelers who went there with great stories & food. The Pig hip is closed now, but Ernie & his wife, Francis, are still there to tell the tales of the Mother Road. located on Route 66 in Broadwell. (I-55/Exit-119). Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.

Big Texan Postcard Standing Tall on Route 66 - Custom original only available at the Rocky Mountain General Store. Text on back: Though technically no longer on Route 66, the Big Texan Steak Ranch has been a Route 66 icon for four decades. Originally located on Amarillo Boulevard, the successful and lively eatery got its start in 1959. To maintain its success, It was forced to move to I-40 when Route 66 was bypassed by the interstate. It continues to serve Mother Road travelers today with lively entertainment and great steaks. Postcard is brand new and in mint condition.

Isleta Indian Pueblo, New Mexico - Text on back: Isleta Indian Pueblo. One of eighteen pueblos in New Mexico, which is still inhabited, Islete is just south of Albuquerque along the Rio Grande. Vintage scalloped edge postcard is unused and in good condition.

Francis Marten, Route 66 Hall of Fame of Illinois - Text on back: Francis Marten. In Raymond, there's the our lady of the highway Shrine, a marble statue of the Virgin Mary on the edge of a farm field of its caretaker, Francis marten, who has been watching over her since 1959. Saint Raymonds' parish raised funds to create her. There is also the "Hail Mary", phrase by phrase (in the style of Burma shave signs). If driving between Springfield & Litchfield, stop by and see her and Francis. Located on the West Frontage Rd. between exits 72 & 63 on I-55. Postcard is unused and in excellent condition.
