- Text on Back: On March 18, 1939, Clark Gable and
Carol Lombard were married at the Beale Hotel in
Kingman,
Arizona.
The press made such pests of themselves that the newlyweds sneaked
away to the
Oatman
Hotel for their honeymoon. From
Oatman,
they returned to Hollywood to film Gone With the Wind.

Sunday. April 14, 1935. This infamous “black blizzard” of Oklahoma’s dustbowl
years (1933-40) produced zero visibility and moved thousands of tons of topsoil
across the plains. Today, through better farming practices, Oklahoma is rarely
plagued by dust storms of this intensity. Postcard
