Submit an article to Legends of America!Do the Write Thing!

Would you like to submit your Ghost story, Old West article, Route 66 experience, photographs, or any other tale that fits with Legends of America?

We really encourage reader participation and love to hear your stories of legends and lore. Tell us about your local history, favorite outlaw, or ghostly encounter, and we will feature you on Legends of America with full kudos and credits, including links back to your website if you have one.!

You don't have to be a Hemingway to submit a story. Just try to get your point across; and we'll do our best to fix up any spelling or grammar errors. However, we would appreciate a little common courtesy on grammatical items, such as, please do not submit your article in ALL CAPS or all lower case. Include relevant links in your story, especially if you have a website of your own. It's a great opportunity to provide a link back to your site and build traffic.

Unfortunately, we do not accept paranormal stories that are of a personal nature that do not define the location.

If you wish to be anonymous, we will be happy to publish only what you prefer.

Guidelines for Submitting An Article:

  • Please submit your article via e-mail.

  • Your article should be about one of the topics that Legends of America features on our website, such as the Old West, Ghostly Legends, Ghost Towns, Treasure Tales, Native Americans, American History, etc. See the navigation menu at the left to get an idea.

  • We only accept original articles - you must be the copyright owner.

  • Articles should be factual in nature. At this time, we do not accept fiction.

  • We reserve the right to edit any submitted article prior to publication for length, clarity, or grammar.

  • By submitting an article, you agree to Legends of America's use of the article on this site and any site we may develop.

  • We'll review your article right away. If it's accepted for use on our website or in our newsletter, we'll send you an email with a link to the article page.

  • Please note that we do not provide any compensation for an accepted article. The only way you can be credited is by printing your byline as provided to us with links to your website.
