Songs were a regular part of Blackfoot
culture and ceremonies. Two types of instruments were often used; a
drum made from a section of a tree trunk with animal skin stretched
over the ends; a tambourine style instrument with hide stretched
over a broad wooden hoop. The
Blackfeet also sometimes used rattles
made from various materials and whistles.
