SITES AND ATTRACTIONS

Baxter Springs Heritage Center and Museum - Displays on the Baxter Springs Massacre, Civil War artifacts, Native Americans and Route 66.  740 East Avenue, P.O. Box 514, Baxter Springs Kansas 66713, 620-856-2385.

Baxter Springs National Cemetery - Labeled as the 2nd oldest military cemetery in the nation. It is off  of US-166 and 2 miles west of town.

Bilkes Western Museum - Features full size mural of the longhorn cattle drive on the side of the building plus a western museum located upstairs. Free Admission, 11th and Military Avenue (Historic Route 66).  Open Mon. - Sat., 9:00am - 6 pm
