Arrive in Springfield on E Kearney St/MO-744

Holiday Drive-In Theater Sign (drive-in gone) at 2829 E. Kearney St.

Remains of Larvey's Court (1930) at 2900 E. Kearney St.

Rest Haven Court, at 2000 E. Kearney St, still open.

Rancho Court Kitchenettes at 1720 E. Kearney St, still open.

Stan's Motor Service (closed) at 737 E. Kearney St.

Side Trip: Rex Smith Oil Company Station (1932) at 2321 N. West Bypass 66.

Side Trip: Danny's Service Center on West Bypass 66.

Turn left (south) at Glenstone Ave/I-44-BL

Original Steak “n” Shake (1962) at 2760 N. Glenstone.

Glenstone Cottage Court (1950) at 2023 N. Glenstone Ave.

Rail Haven Inn (1938) at 203 S. Glenstone.

Turn right (west) at St. Louis St.

Another old Steak "n" Shake at 1158 St. Louis St. 

Continue westward as Saint Louis St. which becomes Park Central.

Gillioz Theatre (1926) at 325 Park Central East

Continue as Park Central becomes College Street and veers right.

Melinda Court (1947) at 2400 W. College St (now apartments)

Turn left onto Chestnut Expressway/BL-44

 

Continue westward on Chestnut Expressway, cross US-160 West Bypass onto MO-266/BL-44 

Wishing Well Motor Inn at 3550 W. Chestnut Expressway (open) 

Continue west on MO-266 (Historic US-66) to Halltown. 

Rainey's Wrecker Service and D-X Station at 7965 Old 66 just west of Springfield.

RS Sales Cabins just west of Highway T.

Yeakley Cemetery and Church established, 1852 and 1857, respectively.

Former Tydol Station and garage (now a residence,) in the old settlement of Plano.

Former Casket factory in Plano.

Whitehall Mercantile and other old buildings in Halltown.

Continue westward on MO-266 (Historic US-66) to Paris Springs Junction.

Dot Mason's Log Cabin Station & Store at 119 Old 66.

Old Sinclair Garage (1926). The old station has been rebuilt.

Beyond Paris Springs Junction, MO-266 turns left onto MO-96. Turnback Creek Bridge (1923), triple pony truss bridge just before MO-96.
After 1 ½ miles, continue straight across MO-96 onto Historic Route 66/MO-N for just ½ mile.  
Turn right onto Farm Road 2062 and cross old bridge into Spencer.

Continue northwest for about one mile and turn west on MO-96 through Heatonville, Albatross, Phelps, Rescue, Plew, Avilla, Forrest Mills and Maxville (these small towns have few remains.)

Old D.L. Morris Garage and Station (1936) in Heatonville.

Ruins of the old Welcome Inn Motor Court in Phelps.

Shadyside Camp (1928) in Plew is a private residence.

Remains of one stone cabin at Forest park Camp in Avilla.

Two old stores - one stone, one wood in Avilla.

At Maxville, turn left onto County Road 118, then make an immediate left onto Old 66 Boulevard into Carthage.  
Turn left (southwest) on MO-96 onto Central Avenue. Side Trip: Backtrack very briefly (northeast) on MO-96, turn north on CR-130 to Red Oak.
Turn left (south) onto Garrison Avenue (MO-571) Boots Motel
Two block later, turn right (west) onto Oak Street.  
Cross US-71 Original dead end alignment .3 miles after US-71, on north side.
Slight left onto Old 66 Blvd. ½ after crossing of US-71. Route 66 Drive-In (1949) at 17231 Old 66 Boulevard (open)
Continue on Old 66 Blvd to Brooklyn Heights
