We have done our very best to keep our Route 66 pages as current and up to date as possible. Several of our readers comment on the comprehensiveness of our hundreds of pages. Thank you all so much for supporting Legends of America!

In the meantime, follow along as we travel all 2,448 miles of this historic path, where we will provide you not only photos and history of the many Route 66 icons and cities along the Mother Road, but, also additional history beyond Route 66 and interesting side trips along the way.

As always, enjoy the ride!

I work as a recreation coordinator in a nursing home, Adult Day center in New Jersey. The time for travel is well gone for my folks, but your website on Route 66 has brought much joy to everyone. I’m able to hook the computer up to a large screen and we are now in Oklahoma, “traveling” one state each week.  Thank you for the time you spent to put this together. I am grateful to share this nostalgia with a group of people who truly get it and enjoy reliving this history. -- Candy C., New Jersey, September, 2010.

I wanted to share my memories of Route 66 as I remember it from 1951 when I was 10 years old. I am sad to say many of my pictures I do not have anymore. So I started doing research to see if I could find any old pictures that I would remember being there. I came across this site and it is a great site to visit. Thank you so much for the memories. -- Nancy, Ohio, September, 2010.

I am located 9.8 miles south of Route 66 in Tijeras, New Mexico. I found your site through the Internet and My God!!! what a thrill. My wife and I have traveled Route 66 all the way to Missouri from California and this site makes our trip a time to remember always. Thank you for making my life better through this site. New places to visit and old times to remember. My wife and I made the trip on my Harley. Lots more to see when you have no walls around you. The people of Route 66 were the best. If you do make the trip, make sure you stop and talk to the people. They love to make new friends. Also, if you make the stop in Adrian, Texas, that is the center point in the Route 66 experience halfway between Chicago and Los Angeles. The exact middle of the road. Fran is the owner of the cafe/diner and she remembers us from when we made the trip 4 years earlier. Good food, great souvenirs and you chance to sign her guidebook. Make a friend forever and visit Adrian, Texas. -- Howard, New Mexico, April, 1010.

I wanted to thank you for this great website!!! I am a teacher in Sylvania Ohio. I was looking for information on Route 66 to add some supplemental information about the Great Depression and western migration when I came across your site. I created a PowerPoint using lots of info I learned on your site and then I spent the rest of the day reading and looking at photo galleries. I could spend weeks here!!!  - Dan, Ohio, November, 2009
