Since
the beginning of time people have been staking out their sign,
beckoning those with money in their pockets to spend a little at their
place of business. Whether it was a place to eat, rest their
heads, or gas up the car, the signs got bigger over time, “screaming”
Stop Here!
Some
of these are funny, some are strange, and some bring back memories of
another era. With new technology many of the hand-painted bill
boards of the past have disappeared and neon has faded with digital
technology. However, upon Route 66, you will still find numerous
peeks at this vintage era.
